This guide will hopefully help people that are having problems operating psx games. This will pretty much be an archive of previously had problems

Note this is still very much in revision and not omniscient, there will probably be mistakes hopefully that will be fixed :)

Problem: During some fight scenes some music from the level hangs in the fight music, making a sort of medium screech
Fixed: Yes
Fix: Make a save state (F1) then load that save state (F3). The music will correct itself
Notes:

Game: Chrono Trigger
Problem Type: Sound
Problem: I play it on my epsxe and there is no sound in the opening intro and none of the movies play. I am in the jail cell in 1000 A.D. Should I have seen any yet? What plugins should I use for sound and video??
Fixed: Yes
Fix: I am using ePSXe 1.5.2 with Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41
Go to Config -- > Sound
Then Check the 'Enable XA sound'
Notes:

Game: Vagrant Story
Problem Type: Sound
Problem: The sound when I fight a boss is playing then it has a note that sticks.
Fixed: No
Fix:

Game: Xenogears
Problem Type: Freezing
Problem: During a dream sequence, the game will freeze.
Fixed: Yes.
Fix: Hit F7 before the dream sequence to activate the fix, hit F7 after the dream sequence to turn it off.
Notes:

Problem Type: Freezing
Problem: During a boss fight (Name not there for spoiler reasons) on CD 2, the game will freeze if he performs a certain move.
Fixed: Yes. Kind of.
Fix: Use save states all the way through the boss fight and just hope he doesn't perform that move, if you don't like save states just restart your game, but save states are the best way.
Notes:

Game: Tales Of Destiny 2
Problem Type: PAL Conversion
Problem: This game is a NTSC region game. When it's converted to PAL it reaches a point near the beginning where the screen will turn white and the game will just freeze on the white screen. This occurs both on a modchipped PSX and in ePSXe.
Fixed: Yes.
Fix: If you need to play this game in PAL, save the game just before this point (You probably will have anyway, and when you reach this point, you'll know the point I'm talking about). The solution is to use an NTSC version of the game to get past that point as the PAL conversion seems to be what causes the freezing. Once you are past the point where the game freezes, just save your game again and swap for the PAL version and it'll run fine.
Notes:
You'll probably only be converting this game if you have a PAL region tv that displays NTSC in black and white

Game: Chrono Cross
Problem Type: Freezing
Problem: When using ePSXe 1.6.0 pressing Start causes Chrono Cross to freeze on a black screen.
Fixed: Yes.
Fix: Use ePSXe 1.5.2 (The older version, basically.)
Notes: * Even if you do get CC running in 1.6.0 there's no guarentee that it'll run well.
* Using the "-noauto" command may aid it running in 1.6.0 but also there's no guarentees.

Congrats to your guide, and I'd like to contibute to it!

To clear up this whole mess about Chrono Cross and ePSXe versions:

I finished the game with ePSXe 1.6.0., so it can't possibly have serious issues I'm not aware of. It's only that I forgot how I managed to get it to run with the status screen and all. I investigated, so here's how you go about it:

The first is that you have to have the "-noauto" switch on. Otherwise you'd get a black screen whenever the name input screen, or something alike comes up.

The second is enabling the "Odd/even bit hack". It says it's needed for ePSXe 1.5.2. or older. Actually, this isn't obsolete, so that's why most people skipped it. If you set this, the game works without the status screen freezing.

Use of Pete's plugins is recommended, as always.

And yeah, this method *is* guaranteed to work.

Game: Lunar Silver Star Story Complete
Problem Type: Freezing
Problem: While playing there is a point you are flying from myght castle and you get an FMV cutscene but after that it seems to freeze on a black screen.
Fixed: Yes.
Fix: change CD1 to CD2 can be done with ISO's aswell
Notes: The game does not actually freeze but just does not display the please insert CD2 screen.

Game: Tales of Destiny
Problem Type: Freezing
Problem: Cannot get past menu Screen
Fixed: Yes
Fix: Apperently the Keyboard was at fault here so a Joypad was used and it works
Notes: I'm not sure why this would make this work as I can make this work with a keyboard but for anyone encountering the same problems this might be the solution.

Game: Vampire Hunter D

Note: There seems to be a big problem with the ff games so I'll put in a few fixes here, just need to find all the problems.

Problem: At the Gold Saucer the game freezes in the battle arena on disc
Fixed: No

Notes: This freeze was the result of a bad iso on the net, apperently not even CD mage can fix it, an alternative iso of this game would be needed
