    It's too bad it doesn't have a little display or LEDs on the board. Makes it much easier to suss out problems.

    Yar. Looks like the board is about 5 years old, still seems decent though.

    Everything lights up so hopefully the ps is fine.

    It switches completely off after beeping at me too btw.

    The manual doesn't have removal instructions but it shouldn't be too tricky to inverse the Intel install steps. Looks like an allen wrench/hex key is needed for some of it. Best of luck, I'm off for now .

    I'd avoid bottom of the barrel stuff. Other than that, just check reviews before committing to one board or another.

    At least for Intel boards. I imagine most of the kinks have been worked out for the BIOS on the AMD side at this point. I haven't checked since I pushed off a new build until Ice Lake and Zen 2 roll around. Also hoping Samsung and the gang will stop gouging everyone for memory by that time .

    good to know. is there any strong differences between amd and intel or is it more about brand preference?

    Most single or low threaded software (games) favors Intel but Ryzen is competitive. The refresh that's rolling around next year should push performance up significantly for AMD.
