no PS2 emualtor supports gran turismo...yet.but at the pace PS2 emulation is moving,i'd say it would be safe to check again after 2-3 years

The best PS2 emulator can only get into gameplay of very very few games. It then also has many glitches and runs at about 15-20 FPS.

That's frustrating to hear. What about the game cube and xbox? How long before we're able to emulate those similar to the consoles?

Gamecube emulation is looking promising with the recent release of Dolphin, but don't hold your breath for the PS2, like PooPoo said, it's not going to be fully emulated anytime soon...

That's surprising. I had read that they were making really good progress with PS2, and a lot of people were excited about it--someone posted a link(on emutalk, I think?) about them getting FFX to the title screen and said improvement was coming along quickly.

    I don't consider "2-3 years" "quickly."

It is coming along rather quickly, putting estimates on it isn't really possible. One of the main programmers may suddenly find they have less time with the project thus >increasing time spent
    or
Another programmer may join the team, thus theoretically lowering the time

I expect great strides to be made this year, but I doubt it will be comparable to say EPSXE for quite some time - 2/3 years is a decent enough estimate.

In that time there may well be quite a few games that become playable.

I'm going to guess that Framebuffer emulation for the PS2 will be a total ***** to get working fast.

They are making good progress, its just that it will be a while before PS2 emulation gets to the state of.......lets say........PSX emulation, hell, even the PSX isn't emulated perfectly yet

I see. I guess I underestimated how long this sort of thing takes.

Oh well. At least I finally got Banjo running smooth. :-D
