i guess he can't enable buffer underrun technology as he's using an old burner.
in the meantime gil, stop burning anything and wasting those CDRs... wait for your drive to arrive and test those cds on that drive.

richcardson, im curious what is the max speed on your burner ?
I'm not too sure about that gilrules2000, I know that when I burn any PS game I get an average of 15xOriginally Posted by gilrules2000
Where would I find the max speed even? Anyone know?
i have a newer cd-rw that i can try(i have three of them) and i think the lowest that goes is 4x or 8x and i know all the settings in alcohol work with that but i wont burn until i get the new psx in the mail
It's a good plan, it's almost certainly a hardware issue. PlayStations can be temperamental machines, I remember walking into a stire called GAME here in the U.K when the PlayStation was just about to be released, all the machines were turned upside down because that was the only way to get skipless FMV
It works though, many a PS problem has been solved with a bit of reorrientation
LOL! now this is one cute marketing technique!Originally Posted by Richardstone

I'd be inclined to get the machine chipped instead of going with a boot disk. The 9000 series machines were a little tougher to do as I remember but you could more than likely find a cheap chip & get someone locally to do it for you if you don't feel you could do the job yourself Not used one of these boot/swap disks myself, as I'm sure I would get pissed off with all that messing about changing disks
Good luck dude!
ive been used to changing disks in the same way because i used the par swap trick before
