    Default not enough space

recently i have noticed that my hd has little space, when it had like 3 gb some days ago and i havent been getting heavy stuff inside it,i went to free some space and defrag but it didnt make a big difference,so i went to see all the programs that i had installed to unisntall something that i dont need but it seems that everything in my computer has a use, then while checking the progrmas i noticed that there were to much update files installed and security things, some of them say to be just checking of the system but theyre like 20 mb each one and there are a lot of these files and it seems that they keep installing ,can i just delete these files or do i need them for something in specific? i know that the security ones are esential for security ( reason ) but what about the checking files? do i need them?,theres also something that says step by step interactive training update but i dont even have a program named by that name, ill add the screenshots about it. (above the security updates for windows xp is the step by step thingy)

Oh man, that's a lot. I had that problem, and I still have it. I ended up having to delete some, and stop the Auto Updates, which isn't good.

Don't delete those, they are useful windows xp fixes. You might expose yourself to malware by removing some of them. Besides, windows xp takes about 2,5Gb with SP2, i'm sure you can find 3Gb of other "worthless" files elsewhere on that big HDD of yours.
Just burn a few CD's and you're done kk?

Holy cow Valholy, get rid of that porn.

I'm living with 15 GB of space in the beginning, and now I have about 2, but it's all messed up; need a new harddrive.

Burning CD is a must for me.. now I need a CD burner..

There's something I always do now when installing an OS for someone I know of or for myself.
A 5Gb partition for windows XP
A 1Gb partition for the swap file
The rest of the HDD for installed programs, my documents, games, downloads, other crap.

This way your windows partition never get too dirty, your swap file doesn't get between your legs and you got a partition for all your downloads. When windows is starting to behave bad, just frigging format the windows partition and re-install it on it.
You could always merge the partitions using partition magic or such program.

thats what i was thinking to do, my partitions were made for security reasons i think, thats why a logic partition is made for right? ,when i get some fatal virus or something like that i just format c: to retail since all the viruses are foud there always, and then my d: drive stays without any modification after that, but i hate to reinstall all my programs
