    Default ePSXe sound

I seem to have trouble running sound on many psx games. I`m using...

Processor: AMD Turion II X2 processor P520
GFX card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 with Catalyst control center version 10.12
    Sound: realtek high-def audio
    Ram:4.00 GB, 3.74 usable GB
    Hard drive: 367 Gb Avaliable.

    epsxe specs...
    Version 1.6.0
Sound: Null2`s Audio Driver 1.3 with 32000 Hz, 16 bit, 20 buffer legnth, block 3, interval is 6 ms, reverb is off, reverse L/R is off, force VAG 48k Hz is off, tone-cache is on, mute XA/VAG stream is off, enable VAG stream is off and linear interpolation is on. Just general is enable sound on, enable CDDA Sound is on, Enable XA sound is off, enable SPU IRQ hack is off.
    Bios: SCPH-1001

Strangly its only the music that isn`t functioning, although it is functioning on FF7 disk1 SCPH.
every other ISO i own has no music. these are Klonoa, Tekken 3, castlevania symphony of the night, silent hill, qix neo and syphon filter.

If you need any more info, just ask.
I can't believe I got the admins to give me a Sesame Street username.

Change your Sound Plugin to either ePSXe SPU core, or Eternal Spu Plugin.

FF7 uses music from data files the other games use CDDA CD music tracks, make sure CDDA is enabled and use a virtual CDrom drive instead of running ISO images directly through ePSXe, this not only enables CDDA tracks but also helps with compatability

    yeah also recomending

All the above are the best of the SPU plugins

    Recomending

    Virtual CD/DVD/Blueray drive

    to what?????

    what have you changed??????

I can't help without more info from yourself, some think I'm good but I'm not that good as to know what you have done without you telling us

I forgot to add, you must always mount CD images via there cue sheet, a *.cue file that should come with your *.bin or *.img files

I`m rather new to emulation so i find this a little unclear. You want me to use DAEMON tools lite to burn the *.cue onto a dvd, and than play it using my laptop disk drive? Sorry if this is rather obvious.

Pardon me i meant cds. and since i just found a spare one around imma try it.

Daemon Tools is a virtual cd-rom that you mount an ISO into, and it acts like you have it in your CD-Rom, but all the info is on your HDD in the ISO.

ok, i now understand that DAEMON is a virtual cdrom drive, and that mounting is the equivalent of poping the cd in, but what i now fail to understand is how to run it. i try opening epsxe, hit run CDROM, and select said virtual drive. But when i select it, it opens it up like a file containing other files, and i am unable to run the virtual cds. can you explain to me howw to get it running? (god im no genius)

Nevermind, I simply had to configure the cdrom setting for epsxe, and now it works. Thanks to all of you for helping me understand this a little better and letting me play with freaking sound! It has really helped alot.

Very happy you got it working in the end anyway

Just a note so you don't get jumped on for it in the future
