Well up to this point, i've brought the forums- FATAL FURY: WILD AMBITION, TOBAL NO. 1, and POCKET FIGHTER (us). So keeping in the line of fighting games, i bring the Arcade and Ps2 instant-classic ARCANA HEART.

It goes without saying that Arcana Heart is the most underrated fighting game ever produced. Probably because it is , single-handedly, the girliest game you ever play in your entire life. The entire cast of fighters is female.

In a lot of ways, it looks and feels like a typical 2D fighting game. Combos, combo breakers, specials, and hypers are all important; so are the key timing attacks, defense, and strategic use of moves. However, the true genius in Arcana Heart is not how it's played during the match, but you're choices before the match.

Each player has to pick a fighter as well as an ARCANA. An
Arcana is a god-like creature that lends it's powers to you're player. Each Arcana also has it's own set of moves, so the fighter's movelist is combined with the Arcana's.

Since each fighter (11 of them) and Arcana (11 as well) has a different movelist, and each can be put together, this gives us a whopping 121 different movelists for a player to choose from! This gives the game a much needed amount of strategic depth, and the feeling of player to player uniqueness.

Two players can play as Heart Aino, but they will have a totally different game depending on which Arcana they prefer. AND THAT, my friends, is what makes Arcana Heart such a brilliant fighter in a genre sadly becoming stale.

Wow, great review, makes me glad to see posters who actually care about their uploads enough to put the time into a full game review, other than just uploading and posting the links.
All in all, great game, a hidden gem among fighting games. This game definitely deserved more publicism than it got. Had a bit of a hitch when i first tried to load the game, where it would drop down to ~.7 fps (yes, that's POINT 7,) and I know it wasn't my hardware. I dunno if anyone else will have or has had this problem, but all it took for me to fix was restarting my computer.
