k dunno wtf is going on but


whenever i conect to the net i get lots of pop ups and then my pc tells me that it will connect to somthing called biz or somthing like that then i am told that it will cost at the bt rate

i have done virius scan and ad ware scans but nothing changes
also the biz thing has an uninstaller but nothing happens

plz help me

(i am VERY pissed off rigt now and have to turn off broad band before the pc starts)

Sorry to here the situation... First off, what antivirus and adware scans have you done? I recommend using Adaware, Spybot: Search & Destroy, and Spywareblaster for spyware, and Norton, Avast!, Panda, or AVG Free, for viruses. Also try HijackThis! That finds a multitude of problems. Can you access the net as normal though? I had a .biz website a long time ago on my comp, and I ended up reforamtting, but there are ways lesser than that to rid this problem... Try Firefox! I t has a built in popup blocker and is, well, better than IE, period. Good luck Topdod.

agreed, AVG is great. also, i would recommend a combo of adaware +spybot, or just adaware. plus, grab a copy of hijackthis.exe and run that, and either copy and paste the results here and take a screenshot, or delete teh bad stuff IF you know what you are doing. also, it wouldn't hurt to defrag and possibly clean your registry, but i don't think this would solve your problem

firefox(pop up blocker better than ie's ver) and microsoft antispyware/ad aware works good too. good luck

k the .biz thing seems to be gone *shrugs* i dunno what i did to get rid of it

but there is an army of pop ups still

run a search of .biz and delete all of its files... AND GET AVG ANTIVIRUS AGH!!!111one its like magic when it comes to getting rid of crap... i use to use nortan, then i got AVG and picked up 14 viruses.

well if its starting with pop ups like u said in the first post try deleting your cookies and temporary internet files

also if norton isnt catching the dialer for some reason reboot in safe mode search for it and delete it manually

You have adware/spyware/malware on your computer.

First, stop using IE. Use FireFox instead.

Download the free version of Lavasoft's Ad-Aware here:

And install it. Then use it to scan all your files for spyware/adware/malware.
When it finds some spyware/adware/malware have it quarantine them.

After Ad-Aware finishes scanning your computer, download and install Spybot S&D from here:

Use Spybot S&D to find and delete the spyware/adware/malware that Ad-Aware missed.

Now download HijackThis from here:

Once you are finally free of all spyware/adware/malware, now it's time to prevent getting any more spyware/adware/malware again.

It's called SpywareBlaster, and unlike Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware, it doesn't find spyware/adware/malware.
It prevents any of that crap from installing on your computer to begin with.

And don't worry about paying for all this--all of these apps are freeware.
