Is it really necessary to format the memory? Because I never did it and never had a problem.

For games that have save features yes, but I will edit that in that not every CD games needs the Memory formated only those that utilise the save feature

True you can run alot of games with Internal Memory alone (and have External Mem Disabled to stop the game asking for it to be formated (Lunar being one of few games that lets you format the external mem from within the game)) but that has disadvantages over Cartridge Memory, for example with Shining Force CD with Internal only you may only create one save file and it also prevents you opening up certain extra's that are only available if you have 2 saved end games on External Cartridge Memory.

If I can somehow reword that shorter I will edit it in instead later

Ok, so it might not be necessary but is still a good idea.

I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

On a side note some games do not let you even start a game if External Mem is enabled till you format it, and a few that only use External Mem but would let you play without saves available if it was disabled

I reworded it now, so it doesn't say you must format the Memory but just info how to, for those who want to.

Snatcher has problems in several different parts of the game(the game locks up). Simply get a save state after the scenes where it locks up.

I need to look into that more myself before adding that info to the faq afterall someone must have had the game running first to create the save states

I have the game myself and never had problems with it but I can't say I have played it very far yet, well not through the emu anyway

PAL/European Machines can only play PAL/European games
NTSC/US Machines can only play NTSC/US games
    even
NTSC-J/Jap Machines can only play NTSC-J/Jap Games

So to play a, NTSC game on a PAL Machine it would need patching, but like I said in the guide, patching does not 100% work with all games

If you are playing through an Emulator it's probobly your bios setup that isn't correct as the same thing goes for the emu's aswell, as in if all your bios files are all NTSC and you put a PAL game in you will get a message like this CD is not designed for this hardware or something close to that
