    Items needed:-



    *Note:- You must get the Pro version of the Max Drive for this to work, the original Max Drive had no features for running custom dols from a memcard, you can get these at www.codejunkies.com

    Max Drive Pro Contents:-

    • Max Drive [Memcard]
    • Max Drive [PC Software]
    • Max Drive [USB Cable]
    • Max Drive Pro [GameCube Software]


    Optional Items

    • GameCube Screwdriver or Screwdriver Bit
    • Replacement Top Case to use Normal sized DVD-R/+R's
    • Normal sized high quality DVD-R/+R's [Ritek Dye]

    Installing GCoS

    • Preparing Max Drive Pro for PC transfers
      1. Make sure Max Drive memcard is not connected to USB cable
      2. Remove any memory cards from GameCube
      3. Insert Max Drive into GameCube
      4. Boot up the GameCube Max Drive Pro software
      5. Press A
      6. Result of this should say PC ready on the right of the screen
      7. Remove Max Drive memcard
    • Transfer GCoS to Max Drive memcard
      1. Make sure to remove Max Drive memcard from GameCube
      2. Connect USB cable to Max Drive memcard
      3. Extact GCOS v1.4.zip
      4. Run PC Max Drive software
      5. Drag and Drop extracted GCOS v1.4.dol to the right side of the PC Max Drive software
      6. Click Yes to convert file
      7. Remove Max Drive memcard from USB cable
    • Preparing Max Drive memcard for GameCube use
      1. Make sure Max Drive memcard is not connected to the USB cable
      2. Remove any memory cards from GameCube
      3. Insert Max Drive into your GameCube
      5. Boot up GameCube Max Drive Pro Software
      6. Wait for Max Drive Pro software to set the Max Drive mamcard up for GameCube use**
      **The right hand side will say it's ready for PC use this will only say GameCube only use if you copy or delete anything from the Max Dive memcard using the GameCube
    • Optionally to run from a normal memcard
      1. Remove any discs from GameCube
      2. Insert normal memcard and the Max Drive memcard
      3. Boot up GameCube
      4. Copy GCOS v1.4.dol from Max Drive Pro memcard to the normal memcard

    Running GCoS

    • Insert memcard that contains GCoS
    • Boot Max Drive Pro GameCube software
    • Press Start over the GCoS dol file
    • Select Boot Backup Game
    • Press A when ready
    • You will be prompted to swop disc's in 8 seconds
    • Open the disc lid and swop for your DVD-R game, close lid
    • If all has gone fine you will be presented with a display of the Name and Region of the game if this dosn't show correct info start again
    • There are a few options here to force display in NTSC or PAL using X or Y or A to auto select

    Preparing and burning GC iso's:-
    • Rename *.gcm to *.iso
    • Check file size is 1.35 gig
    • If less use fstfix with the options s f to rebuild the iso to 1.35 gig
    • Some games need the files reorganised to fix music again use fstfix with t s f flags on
    • Use DVD-R's with Ritek Dye
    • Burn with Nero Burning Rom making sure the Finalize DVD option is on


    Note:- The fstfix.zip I uploaded also has 2 bat files with it one for s f options used on a file renamed to sf.iso and one for t s f options used on a file renamed to tsf.iso, for those not used to command line dos prompts
