Normal Flash Card NDSEEPROM can backup NDS savers 4kb and 64kb from nds cards to GBA Ram then a backup to PC from that GBA Flash card can be made

There is also a SD/CF version of NDSEEPROM available aswell

    Notes for Nintendogs (all versions)

Use -nosave using ndspatch to save on a 2mbit NDS card using no options results in saving to a GBA card but instead of the data being 256KB Ram (2Mbit) it ends up being 64K and corrupts the save so the save and other options on the left of the screen are no longer available

    Notes for Lunar (All versions)
    Saves to GBA using ndspatch
    64kb Ram

Hmm... Well, I read you're PM, but I don't understand a few things. Like, do I need a PassKey? And ehm... Do I need a NDS game with the same saving type? I'm talking about either the G6 or M3. Help?

Both G6 and M3 use there own pass key and both have GBA saving for most of the games

Look for there official web sites and check out the features.

I don't own either of those cards myself by the way... yet.

Managed to make 256Kbit rips of the following (After a hell of alot of research and playing round)
    • Castlevania (Intro FMV rip) - (I had instructions for that one anyway)
    • Meteo's (Intro FMV rip)
    • Lost in Blue (Sounds rip playable but.. you know it's missing part of what makes the game)

They all use GBA flash card saving

Now I have a little bit of experience with this I can try some of the other biger games and see if I can make them smaller for 256Kbit flash cards

I'll do instructions later but it's not that hard to do but it's dos prompt stuff so I'll make a couple of bat files to make it more simple

Tools for the NDS for use with standard flash cards
NDS Patch 0.1 (for patching nds roms to boot from gba flash card with PassMe)
NDS EEPROM backup tool (To backup NDS card saves 64K and 4K EEPROM save types) [use 512K Ram size on GBA Flash card]
NDStool (For extracting and rebuilding NDS roms (used for creating rips ))

Rip kits? good idea or not, basicly I should be able to create some kits to rip the games automaticly by creating some basic bat files

There is a newer tool now available that mentions 2mbit backup but I have yet to test or be able to not having any 2mbit save type DS games of my own

    More compat notes

Metroid Pinball (GBA saves) [fully played to death all unlockables unlocked and saved onto GBA cart]

Nintendogs does not fully save the data onto a GBA card, it only saves the one dog plus it doesn't let you keep training go shopping or any of the other options usually shown on the to left of the lower screen after you restart your DS and load the data back in (maybe a fix patch could be created)

There also seems to be a new patcher around now aswell but this is not fully compatable with my flash card and booting with a game patched with it results in dual white screens and doesn't even show the boot screen, but inserting the flash card during the boot works so the patcher does work

I'm also going to have a try at ripping a 64Mb (512Mbit) rom into 2 32Mb (256Mbit) roms, this experiment should be interesting, making it so you can play the full game but in 2 sessions, I'll need to put alot of work into this just to figure out what levels come in what order (I'll might be able to find out though with GameFAQ's or some other good guides site to help save a small amount of time hopefully)

Man, you are the best. Finally someone who put's some real effort in NDS backing up is stead of all the psp backup tools.

    Nintendo Rulez.

BTW does anyone know if Mario Kart will go online right from the begining?

    Sounds that way

The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is out on the same date as the euro version of Mario Kart, though I don't know the details on the US version, but hopefully it's the same over there though prolly before I can buy it here

Had my first bit of luck splitting a rom into several smaller ones (256Mbit) with 0109 - Frogger - Helmet Chaos (U)(Legacy) 512Mbit, but I think this one would have to be 3 or more roms, but I'll not be experimenting more with that game, I only done it as a test, removing data/Levels and data/Cinematics for levels 7 to 17 including endings, leaving the first 6 levels with full Sound and Cinematics

Call it a proof of concept, basicly to see that it can be done

    just ripped 0177 - Sonic Rush (U)(Legacy) 512Mbit 64MB

    only came out today aswell

Removed/replaced general sound file for menu's, level end and cut scenes
All ingame sounds are still there though

So far I think I have in Rom part one 256Mbit 32MB the first 4 Zones for Sonic in full

There will be another Rom with the last 3 Zones for Sonic aswell

There is also data for another Hero in the game I'll figure that out later but it will be another 2 roms

Edit: got it down to 2 Roms (Making rip kit)

    0177 - Sonic Rush (U)(Legacy)[256Mbit rip](Zorlon)[1of2(Sonic)]. 256Mbit 32MB
    0177 - Sonic Rush (U)(Legacy)[256Mbit rip](Zorlon)[2of2(Blaze)]. 256Mbit 32MB

Note:- If your GBA card formats your save for every new rom you flash just backup your save and load it back after you flash Blaze

Edit2: I released a rip kit containing a batch file to make these rips for you from the released 512Mbit rom, it also contains the tool used and a quick nfo with basic instructions.

Sonic Rush (U) 256Mbit Rip kit
